


Normally it rains for a few days during Tokyo’s festive two-week season between the cherry blossoms’ first bloom and the final scattering of petals. Several days of sun and blue skies are usual, and the temperatures are warm enough for picnicking in parks and gardens. But not this year: every day has been cloudy or rainy, with temperatures that feel ten degrees colder than they actually are.
