At some point during the recent Depp v. Heard defamation trial—which I didn’t watch, for reasons I’ll go into later—I suddenly remembered “London Fields”, the movie that was supposed to make Amber Heard a star. Adapted from the eponymous Martin Amis novel, it was pulled from the lineup at the 2015 Toronto Film Festival after its director, Mathew Cullen, sued the producers for fraud. Then the producers sued Amber Heard for refusing to do nude scenes and promotional appearances. After that, “London Fields” disappeared.
